I’ve lost track on what # book I am on for this year oops. I remember this story from back when it happened. I thought it was really heartbreaking then, and 20 plus years later I still think it is heartbreaking. I haven’t watched the movie, I’m not sure that I could.
Into the wild by Jon KrakauerIn April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. His name was Christopher Johnson McCandless. He had given $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet, and invented a new life for himself. Four months later, his decomposed body was found by a moose hunter. How McCandless came to die is the unforgettable story of Into the Wild.
I have also read another Jon Krakauer book: Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith which was also excellent.
Finished reading A Virtuous Woman by Kaye Gibbons and The Laws Of Money by Suze Orman. When I finish reading a book, I post most of them on Paperbackswap.com. I also can’t get the Bun Jingle from Bob’s burgers out of my head. I’m seriously considering making it my phone ringtone.
Luckily someone posted it online so I can listen to it over and over and over again.
On accidentally eating dog treats “Snausages? I’ve been eating dog treats? Why the fuck would you put them on the counter where the rest of the food is? Fuck it, they’re delicious. I will not be shamed by this”
Book #11 I am reading in 2014. Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern
